And the winner is Blu-ray
Blu-ray! Finally the format battle can end. After a bunch of big-box retailers decided to exclusively sell Blu-ray products, it seems that Toshiba is on the outs with their HD-DVD platform. This is actually not too bad for Toshiba who, although losing a bit of money now, will save in the long run.
What's really great about the end of the (format)war is that you and me can finally benefit. Well, that is, as soon as Blu-ray hardware becomes more affordable than the $237, lowest priced player as of this writing. Personally, if the price came to about 150, maybe 200 for a good quality player I would consider it, but that doesn't seem likely. At least not for the time being.
